my period is never on time so usually i wait a week or so to do a test ..but after a weekend of drinking heavily...i took a test casue i was like...1 and a half weeks late..and it came up positive....will that weekend of partying affect my child long term?

I don't think so unless you keep drinking. Time to stop.

It's possible. I studied this in school. There is a disease that children sometimes get when they're moms drink while they are in the womb called Fetal Alcohol Syndrom. They're development is a lot slower than it would have been otherwise. From now on, don't drink while pregnant, or while breastfeeding. Good luck and I hope you child is born healthy.

It's different for everybody. I know a girl that drank a quart of natty ice everyday during pregnancy, but her baby was fine. I've read of another lady that had one glass of wine during the entire pregnancy and her baby was born w/ fetal alcohol syndrome. I don't know if there's a definite way to tell, but I know bloodwork can be done on fetuses before birth. Talk to your OBGYN.
