Michigan, particularly west Michigan. There are fabulous things to do amongst the beautiful, sandy beaches and quaint towns along Lake Michigan. The cost of living is very low. The weather is nicely diverse, but not too extreme (natural disasters are very rare).

Minnesota....worst is Texas. Minnesota has 10,000 Lakes...change of seasons, great people.
Texas is too hot, has rude people and is way too arrogant about itself. I've lived in Texas for 15 years.
