You mean some idiot thought 'light' cigarettes were 'healthier'?

Sorry, ignorance is no excuse to go suing others for your choices. People have known for over a century that smoking tobacco is bad for your health.

It is sad that judges make pathetic rulings like this.

You joined when you met the conditions of the class. I don't know exactly what they are, but it probably involves purchasing some cigarettes in the US sometime in the past, before the suit was filed. You don't have to do anything else to join; you do have to affirmatively opt out of class law suits.

Now that you know you are a member of the class, you should know that you did not get and will not get anything from it. In fact it will COST you. Some lawyers made & will make tens of millions of dollars; some states will get hundreds of millions of additional tax revenues from tobacco companies (which they will pass on to their customers); some anti-tobacco lobbyists & PR firms will get some money. And if you continue to buy cigarettes you will pay MORE bcause of the law suits. Congratulations on your court victory.
