If you ask me it is just the effect of society creating an expectation of men to be able to attract women. Being called a virgin should not be viewed as an insult towards men. I myself am a virgin. Being called a virgin should represent the restraint and moral caliber of the individual.
Well this is just what I think. Take care.

Because boys are supposed to be hounds and girls are not. Calling a boy a virgin is like saying he doesnt have what it takes to get a girl. Stupid i know but thats the way it works for guys.

It's only an insult if the boy feels insulted by it. Anyone comfortable with themselves and their sexuality wouldn't be insulted.

men and their BLOODY egos. guys score points with their friends when they sleep with girls. i think it makes them feel like a man 2 have their little boyish friends tell them just how cool they are because they've slept with a lotta girls. i spose they dont realise exactly what makes a man a man coz they think its sleeping around that doe...shame. i dont think its an insult. in this day in age if you can find a guy that hasnt slept with half the nation then u've found something special. there aint nothing wrong with being a virgin.

losing your virginity is a sign of masculinity and sexual prowess. Amongst teenage boys this is quite a big thing, hence the reason to use the issue of virginity to mock another boy.

Sadly it is the common view of social pressure that does this. It's basically saying, "You're not as good at getting laid as I am. Therefore I'm better than you, and you're pathetic because you've never had sex."

This of course is a load of nonsense. Sexual maturity is so undervalued by the younger generations, and the media is doing nothing to help it.

It really is not an insult except to those people who think they are superior for already losing theirs. Live and let live.
