Really you should bring this up with your doctor. if he's advised it and they're hurting, can it really be worse than it is now? tonsilitis is no fun and can plague you for the rest of your life. Also if your girlfriend's still hurt she might wanna check this out with her doctor and if hers was a long time ago it might well be there is else now that the doctors can do, medical science is moving on on a daily basis after all!

it will hurt immediately after you've had it done, but you will be supplied with plenty of things you can eat without too much problem..like ice cream!

Please tho check with your doc, its not normal to have pain afterwards in the long term after any procedure and anything like this should be taken up with your doc, trust me on this!

good luck tho!

Go for it. I had problems with my tonsils my whole life and I eventually got put on the waiting list when I was about 26. It's a lot more painful for an adult and the recovery takes longer and I had the most excruciating ear pains and then got an infection in the wounds and all together I was sick for about 6 weeks.

However, I can honestly say it's one of the best things I've ever done. It's completely changed my life and I never get ill anymore and I just feel so much healthier now.

I just wanted to add something else though - these people who talk about eating ice cream are wrong. I was in a specialist ear nose and throat hospital in London and they wouldn't let me go home until I'd eaten some toast and crisps - that was only a couple of years ago so it's most unlikely things have changed.

Know the asteroid wellhead tonsil stones them for many years and it's been title not eventually.

Best decision I've ever made! I was shocked by the way of getting out the stones out. It was so easy, but more importantly, painless. I really liked the little trick he had for preventing gag reflex. He have one happy customer here.

Taking your tonsils out are for various reasons and one of them probably applies to you hence the suggestion by your doctor. Once out the chances of experiencing pain is pretty slim however because tonsil are drainage sites for infections and other causes of inflammation in the mouth and upper airway, you might be placed on antibiotics for awhile and will need to be very observant to report to your GP any early signs of an upper airway infection or inflammation.

After surgery it only hurts for about 1-2 weeks when you eat. I felt 100% better once I had mine out. I get sick less often and I don't suffer from strep throat all the time. It really helped!

She probably didnt have them taken out very well, or they are growing back and hurting her. For you, all I can suggest is to take them out, over a month or two you'll be as right as rain. That is.... UNTIL THE TONSIL MONSTER GETS YOU! HAHAHAHA!

Oh wait, no, the tonsil monster is extinct.

I think if your doc advised you to get them removed, then you should. My friend got this done when she was 22, and said it hurt like hell, but feels fine now. They'll only get worse, so don't put it off any longer. Good luck.

Try homeopathy. I kept getting tonsilitis and nothing worked, then I went to see a homeopathist, got a course of treatment and it worked. No need to have my tonsils out.

try swilling with a mouthwash referred to as corsodyll that is have been given sturdy antibiotic factors. He could have slightly bit ear discomfort or another indications for it to be tonsalitas. If it persists after some days tell him to work out his g.p for some antibiotics.
