JPEG (Joint Picture Experts Group) is a highly compressed image file format. It allows for good picture quality in a small file using a high compression algorithm.

TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is an uncompressed picture format. The files are considerably larger, but each pixel contains more data. This format will give you a considerably better picture, but at the cost of file size.
