the primer that is used is the most important thing. on plastic or vinyl, use a 100% acrylic latex primer first then use a good quality topcoat such as Benjamin Moore's 103 or 096 series. make sure the surface is clean and slightly scuffed before priming. scuff with a 3m nylon scuff pad. good luck!

Go to an auto body repair supply wholesaler and tell them you want to paint the plastic body on a trailer. They have paints (usually used on car bumpers) that are made for painting plastic. You might need to rent a sprayer from a tool rental store also.

You did nto say whether it was a vehicle-drawn trailer for hauling cows or a trailer that you live in.. and what the siding is made of.. metal or wood. At any rate.. USE a first rate PRIMER.. AN ABSOLUTE MUST.. then I would use an oil-based paint of your color choosing.

You are going to have to go to a paint store for the paint. Why not ask them??
Look up the manufacturer of the trailer and ask them.
