Sadly, I have to dress up for Halloween at work this year. I'm at a new job and should really try to be a team player. Any suggestions on something REALLY easy and mimimally embarrassing?

A lot of you guys are missing the point here. The point being : QUICK AND EASY! Too many complicated answers. I am not into Halloween anymore and really not into it at work. I think it's pretty moronic to dress up at work. BUT, I am trying not to be too much of a stick-in the-mud. I admit that I am one. I need something that will take me no longer than 30 minutes and preferably something I can do without having to go to a store. So far I like the zombie idea. I feel like one at work half the time anyway!

Can't beat a classic - white sheet with two eye-holes, instant ghost :)

Might not be the right thing for work, though. Try some dark eye shadow all around the eyes, pale face make-up, messy hair with too much mousse, shabby clothes - instant Zombie :)

Slap a bunny ear headband on and make a little poof for a tail. Where pink or some equally revolting pastel color and there you go. Miss Bunnyhop.
OR
Cat ear headband make a long tail wear black draw some whiskers on your cheeks and be a black cat
OR
Where patched clothes (old comfey ones) and carry a bottle of whiskey or your prefered drink go as a bum. Buy a plastic cigar to keep in your pocket.
OR
Throw a sheet over yourself ....make sure you cut out eyeholes. So you dont walk into your boss or someone.
Noone can see you under the sheet therefore no embarassment. And The sheet involves no makeup on your face so when you go out for lunch you still look like a sane person.
Tell everyone you are a ghost charecter from charlie brown (peanuts comics) they always did the ghost costume.
OR
Just wear all orange tell everyone you are a pumpkin
OR
wear orange and black (uuugh i know) tell them you are the godess ...mistress....mother of halloween ...ie: im the halloween godess.
OR
buy devil horns headband wear red add a tail and or a cape. This way you can take all that off before you leave the office.

One year I got invited to a party and only realized it was a costume party about 3 hours before the event. I went to a party store and got some black ears a tail, and a small mask, (about 8 bucks total...but you wouldnt NEED the mask you could just do some makeup) I work black pants and a tiger printed jacket (something I had had in my closet for ever, but i just couldnt get rid of, but anything you could find with a little fur would do) Teased my hair up a little added some glitter and went as a super cute kitty-cat.

This is an original idea. And comfortable!

Wear house slippers and robe.

If you have one of those old hot curling irons with the teeth, roll up a piece of your hair in it like it is tangled, - or buy a cheap wig and fix it like that.

Then cut off most of the cord - just let it dangle.

I have long hair, and I was desperately trying to untangle my hair, when I thought I was going to really HAVE to do that!

Then I thought that would be a funny Halloween look, very entertaining! If you don't have an old curling iron, go to Salvation Army or a yard sale.

Maybe like an Idian girl. Sometimes you can find stuff around your house like hankerchiefs and leather necklaces. Think of the stuff you have just around the house! Like a chef, biker, you could even go as like a sleepy person and mess your hair all up and put on some cute slippers and p.j's. Good luck, sounds like fun

Oh, come on! Search for your inner child! I went one year as a cluster of grapes and it was a blast. The only cost is for the balloons and double stick tape. They have tons of headbands, etc in the halloween aisle at Wal-Mart. You can just grab some bunny ears, put on white tights, and glue some cottonballs to your butt. Have fun!

Track down an old cassette or video of RED SKELTON, one with Freddie the Freeloader, an old wino, makes for a really simple and easy Halloween costume, with alittle black make-up for beard and mustache. In fact you can use any of RED's characters.

Black leotards, black tee, long black cape which can easily be whipped up with some inexpensive fabric from your local fabric store, a witches hat, old fashion straw broom and some creative make up.....you're set! Good Luck and Have a BLAST!
