replaced battery-alternater could it be a short or some other elelectical device

first try tightening battery cables

I'm not a mechanic, but one time my battery needed water
in it, and the light in my car kept going on also. So you may want to check "that" before you go and spend a bunch of money. Also the battery cable wasn't quite connected all the way, so there's another possibility too.

could be cables,regulator,loose ground on alt, loose wiring at starter solenoid
