Take your cell phone with you, but leave the laptop at home! If it's really a vacation you don't need to lug around a laptop 'just in case' , and honestly you don't need the mobile either. They're both ways to end up doing work; which is obviously not why you're on vacation.

It depends on where you are going on holiday?
I know lots of people who take their laptops with them on holiday or when they are away from home If you keep it in a safe place and make sure you dont let it out of your sight I cant see a problem

I tend to bring my mobile and my laptop, Usually I leave my phone off tho , that way i dont need to deal with buisness calls , but at least I have it in case of emergency! And the laptop , cant live without it!! :)

The mobile (which leads me to assume you're British) is small and concealable, and some would consider a necessity. That I would take. The laptop, while you might want to have it, is larger, considerably more expensive, and by it's shape is quite obvious as to what it is. They are highly susceptible to being stolen (pinched) so unless you intend to carry it with you EVERYWHERE I might leave it safely at home.

I would say no. On a vacation, that last thing you want to worry about is carrying your laptop around, because it might get stolen from the hotel. The cell is another thing, but if you are going swimming, yet another thing to worry about!
There are a lot of internet cafes around, & let your itinerary decide what to do with your phone!

Only if you want to work while you're on vacation. A vacation is for relaxing and getting away from work. Don't take it.

Also, there are so many different restrictions on what you can take on board an airplane. Call the airline just before you go to make sure you can take those items on board.'
