Love can only be truly experienced by loving, not by being loved.

as sky noted above, much of the problem with this comes from the definitions. what do you regard as true? and what do you regard as love?

but if we both understand 'true love' in a similar way, i think this is simply to do with the probability theory. true love involves loving someone 'truly' and being loved by this someone, also 'truly' - all at the same time. now, as you probably would agree, one can only 'truly love' very few people (some would argue, only one) at a time. what is the probability then of there being a coincidence?

Well, maybe because people see love in so many different ways and most of the times have no idea what it means. You have to be able to give and receive aswell. It always pends on each individual's sensitivity. Love is lot more than cool outfits, trend, parties and sex. Of course, they are part of a couple's life too, but it is not based on them. As you may notice, individuals are intersted in matching today's society's look and trends. It is not easy at all but you feel it when you meet they person with whom you could share love. The secret is in maintaining it.

Trying to "get" true love may be the problem.

Do those things that nurture you--take care of yourself, live a balanced life, and do those things that bring you joy. While you do those things, you may find people with whom you have much in common and make connections. Perhaps out of those people you connect with, you will find someone who you regard as special and who feels the same for you. Love may develop out of those shared feelings. All the best to you.

Depends on your definition of true love...There is only one love that is perfect and true - and that is God's love. Human love is imperfect but comes closer to perfection when both people try to do their best to make the other one happy. And when there is conflict - to try to work it out always with mutual respect - never giving up on each other!

True love can be experienced only within oneself. You cannot find it any where outside you.
