First have you taken pictures of it yet, so that you can make him pay for it? Okay as far as what it could be, Have you seen any different colors in the area where he poured the substance? I mean can you see if it was something like acid or something? I know egg can destroy a paint job on a car? Now if you really do not know what it was that he used then you can always take it to a car repair shop where they do paint jobs they may be able to tell you what it was........I am sorry that you had such a bad break-up I hope that that is all that he hurts, because a car can be replaced, not a life......Good Luck

It could have been mineral spirits , paint thinner, or battery acid depending on what the damage looks like. if you report him to the police the insurance company might pay for repainting. Plus that will protect your next car also and your life in case you need to get a restraining order against that loser..

That might be acid, or paint remover. If there's bubble forming on the surface, it's acid. If acid is poured on your face, you are a goner.
Be careful, your boyfriend is dangerous. If it is in my country (Singapore), go report to police, and he will be seriously deal with.
I suggest you report this incident to Police. I am not sure what is the law of your land. But it is safer that way.

It could have been alot of things. One that I know of is acid. I know b/c one of my kids did this...
