Cows drink water and in India, nutritious cake made from the husk of peanuts and also neem is mixed with water and given to them. During summer they drink more water like we humans do.

A very good lactating cow that is in a dairy herd will give up to 100 pounds of milk and drink over 25 gallons of good clean water a day.
They do not seem to need diet pepsi or any other junk as mentioned.

Babies drink milk - which does them just like it does people -- makes them big as a cow!!!
After that, they never touch milk again...only water!
