My suggestion is to start off with songs by Streisand, Manilow, Sedaka, Taylor, Diamond, Sinatra, Bennett.
My favorite party song is"Do the Conga". Can't sit still for that. Disco Inferno by the Trammps, Definitely have to include some Salsa and merengue, "I will Survive" still gets airplay, so that might work.

Well, if you're boss is turning 40, that means she's a child of the '80s. Think Madonna, Prince, Cyndi Lauper etc. In fact, if you were to get a couple of good compilations of "Greatest Hits of 1984" etc. it would probably serve the purpose.
