The only good thing is you will be somewhat close to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. The bad part is it is a swamp. Sorry for you guy.

Well one of the worst features of Louisiana is it's vulnerability to hurricanes. Fort Polk due to it's nature as a combat training facility maybe located in a not so affluent area of Louisiana. Here is a link where you could read more about it.

The best feature I saw while I was there was the sign that said
"Now leaving Ft. Polk". There were, however, plenty of bad features. Swamp skeeters, city of Leesville, unbearable heat and humidity all come to mind.
