I’m an otherwise healthy 27 yr old woman at my wits end due 2 several inexplicable symptoms which have become increasingly worse 4 eight yrs now. Firstly, I always feel boiling hot regardless of the temperature, although my skin doesn’t feel unusually hot to touch. I also have an unquenchable thirst & cannot sleep through the night without waking up numerous times for a drink, & constantly need the toilet. When I get too hot I feel light headed really itchy, especially when around other people. Also, over the past 6 months I’ve inexplicably gained 20 pounds & all of it has gone on my stomach. I’m definitely not pregnant, although I look at least 5 months gone, & my waist measures 36” although the rest of my body is still a size 10, so I find it impossible to find clothes to fit me. My stomach feels bloated & I pass wind frequently. I eat a healthy diet & have been tested 4 diabetes, thyroid, calcium deficiency & IBS, all of which have come back negative. I also had to monitor the amount of fluids going in & out 4 2 weeks to see if I had water retention & that came back negative too. Can anyone out there relate to what I’m talking about or suggest any remedies or a possible diagnosis for this mystery illness?

I was going to suggest diabeties too, but you say youve been tested for that.

Sounds like you have a problem with your diet, perhaps alergic to some foods,
if you waist is 36, then best get some exercise too.
I dont want to sound bad, but apart from that the only thing i can think of is a tumor in your stomach.!

Sorry I really can't help you on this. I'm no doctor unfortunately, and if the doctors you've been to can't seem to find a cause for your problems, then its unlikely that anyone on here will be able to offer much help either.

All I can suggest to you is that you go and get a second opinion. in my experience, doctors are often wrong and something they missed on the first batch of tests might be picked up on the second. What you describe to me sounds like diabetes and it might be possible your symptoms are unrelated. It could be several things. Defiantly go to get a second opinion and don't leave there until you find out whats wrong. I had a burst appendix for 8 days before the doctors realised what it was. I saw 5 doctors in that time and every last one said I had a water infection and it would pass.

For symptoms lasting 8 years, a tumor is unlikely and tumors often cause weight loss - not weight gain. Bloating can be caused by what you eat... and can be worse with "healthy" foods. If appropriate tests have been done (a CT scan of your belly might be reasonable), then IBS or anxiety-driven symptoms are highly likely. Psychogenic polydipsia (drinking a lot for no medical reason) is common. This is a complex question and should be discussed with a doctor.

This sounds really serious try and get an appointment with a specialist ,this could be diet related or an allergic reaction to a kind of food that you have become allergic to

Write a food diary for a week then look at what you eat most of if you have been tested for the usual suspects then it could be down to food intolerance of some sort.
