The lack of moral amongst today's youth is much different. To be pregnant while in HS was never acceptable, today it's a badge of honor. Teenagers today have to make too many choices on their own and they are not ready for them. This is because the parents are both working. There are more gangs today, there is more bad media, violence, and you mix that with lack of parental supervision and the degraded standards in school and it doesn't make for a good citizen.

The lack of morals in todays society comes first to mind. Also it seems that there is no personal responsibility anymore. Everyones problem seems to be someone else's fault or society's fault. As for the future, I can only foresee a reversal of all this because if it continues on this trend, things look bleak.
It is a pendulum like effect. in the roaring 20's everyone was partying, then came the depression when evrything went the other way until the 60's when everyone began partying again, which it seems we may be heading towards the more conservative side again today.

In all honesty, the very GREATEST challenge facing teenagers today, bar none, is trying to live in today's world without any moral structure. That is, trying to live in a godless society, in which even the very mention of God is prohibited.

Teens today aren't stupid, like some adults think. Kids today are smart enough to realize that if there truly is no God, as taught in the schools, then there truly are no morals, no matter what the adults keep trying to tell them.

As a result, teens are getting into legal trouble, financial trouble, and moral trouble, with children getting pregnant and having children, doing whatever they want, with no moral constraints at all.

For every problem, there IS a solution. And the solution to THIS problem is to reinstate the 10-commandments on high school classroom walls where everybody can see them, and bring prayer back in to schools.

Children today face more peer pressure today then when I was young; I think children today are pressured to grow up way too fast and they get lost in certain aspects of life that needs to be handled by the adult! I think many adults expect too much out of their children now days and are actually putting too much responsibility in there lives!

Some of the biggest challenges are peer pressure, self-esteem/self-confidence (body image issues), and drugs/alcohol abuse (which goes hand in hand with peer pressure). Everyone wants kids to grow up so fast these days. Body image issues can deal with weight, anorexia, bulimia, etc. Peer pressure can deal with doing things out of their normal comfort zone to "fit in", like drugs, alcohol, smoking, stealing, bad mouthing. All of these things are so hard on kids these days.

I think today's teens will face a sense of softness and entitlement that teens of a generation ago did not.
I think people's coddling of children today will manifest itself in young people who don't know how to deal with adversity and "real life" as many of us had to.

Otherwise, I think issues such as peer pressure, drug use, and general acceptance are pretty universal.
