Bearskins and they are still made from real bearskin mainly fron Canada, as fake fur trials have fail so far to date. A recent TV newsprogramme highlight the plight of bears in Canada being shot by tourists, often mother bears with young cubs that starve.

Its a busby...my grandad used to wear one in the scots guards. They are still made of bear fur (as per news report on gmtv last week ) but manufacturers of fake fur say there's no need for real fur these days. MOD are still defending this claim though saying fake fur does not have the same qualities as real fur.

These hats are called "bearskin" hats, and are worn by the Grenadier Guards. My Grandad was in the regiment.

i dont know what the hats are called but if you're talking about the guards at buckingham palace..they're called beefeaters so maybe if you google that you'll find out more info..?
