when we smoke cigerettes, breath pollution and we eat food laced with incectisides and our factories poison the earth and ground waters every moment of every day and people live with chronically high stress levels.
That is why i would not ever give one single cent of my own money - and it is not for lack of compassion.
Why would anybody?

Because progress has been made in treating many cancers, some are almost 100% curable if caught in time, which was not the case 50 years or less ago.
As to why YOU shouldn't give money, perhaps you'd rather see a gift that gives you instant gratification? Look for another charity, you didn't say you were just a tightwad, so help someone else. If I weren't so sarcastic, even I would be a good candidate.

If we cure all kinds of cancer, then the medical profession and all related fields will go through a drastic financial slump. If people died of cancer right away, then there would be no more "customers" for these new and sophisticated protocols.
So I have to believe that the goal is to research ways to partially cure cancer----- Keep people living longer, but still in need of those technologies.

Does everybody have the enormous wealth to be have their own place to create organic compost and, to have their own garden? To afford not to work and just relax and exercise?
Before you were born are you consulted that you will be born that need to work in a high stress work full of inconsiderate people?
Do victims of cancer due to second hand smoking in public places? Did an unborn child got consulted if he wants to be born that will end up with cancer because the mother smokes or eat food laced with insecticides or char coaled or because she is exposed to radiations?
You can tell me they were consulted and agreed. Then we shouldn't shell out money to research for cancer cure. Cause they consented that they want to have cancer when everyone have the resource not to work in high stress workplace , eat industry produced foods, ... etc.
You can prove that everyone who have cancer wishes to have cancer thats why they deliberately got themselves ill. And they want to die a painful death then I will agree with you that there should be not a single cent shell out for research for a cure.
You can prove that every mother with cancer of two - three young children barely in adulthood would wish to die and leave her young to survive alone in the harsh world. Or that every father with cancer with a family and children barely old enough to survive alone would just wish to die and not care what happens to their family. You can prove that then I will agree with you there shouldn't be a single cent wasted on cancer research.
Heck if you can prove that everyone wants to die of cancer or some other form of painful death. Why not ask some crazy mass murderer to start a nuclear holocaust.

try not to do any of these things. You can't. so you are open to cancer. get cancer and ask the same question. that will be a problem. try not to think only at yourself! there are innocents in this war

I am only going to answer your question and not your reasoning behind it......If it were not for the donations to researching for cures for cancer, I would not be alive today..nor many many people.....I sincerely hope cancer never touches you.!!.....stay healthy......
