I used to feel the red blush creeping up my neck to my face and so wore polo neck jumpers to meetings!
It will take time to gain more confidence, ask your boss for a 3 monthly review, if he/she is happy with your work he/she will tell you, and you will gain confidence. Ask work or pay to go on an assertiveness course, these are anything from 1 to 3 days, you will do learn lots of different coping mechanisms to help.
Make sure you are prepared for the meetings so that you know everything will go well. And at the start of the meeting, remind yourself that nobody will die if its not perfect, so what is the big deal (presuming they won't that is).

Just take deep breaths, maybe even fiddle with a pen before hand.just a few mins before the meeting or whatever take a few secs to relax a lil.The worst bit is more the first few seconds then anything else...also I've heard that by getting a can of coke and mixing some vodka in it,works wonders.

I have that problem too and I have to sing in front of my whole school on Friday :( but i'm gonna keep my hands behind my back, take a deep breath and sing loudly and try not to be self conscious cuz then my voice will shake. You gotta think positive, "I can sing, I'm good, I sound awesome singing alone what's the difference if I'm in front of a bunch of people?" maybe you can calm yourself down by doing some jumping jacks or pushups before you sing.

Sounds like you get anxiety. This is a true medical condition and can be helped with a tiny pill. I hate to go the medication route.
You could start your day off with a brisk walk each day. Excercise is good for the soul and mind. Set goals and reward yourself. Perhaps a new handbag or shoes for a months worth of continuous excercise.
TO WORK ON SPEAKING IN FRINT OF A GROUP, a lot of times you want to make wure you take deep breaths and look above their heads. If you make an inaccurate statement by accident, most likely they wont know.
You are needed. Start treating yourself better and get that attitudethat "no one can bring to the table what I can in my job"

"how do you get round it?"You don't. You deal with it. You might try thinking of things that would relax you. Or take your mind off what is making you so nervous. Most of all i suggest seeing some professional help who know how to get to the root of the problem. If you want you could always pray for a little help.

You should take up yoga or some similar activity that promotes relaxation and meditation. After a few months of Yoga I could close my eyes, take a deep breath and immediately relax. That would just do it for me...worth a try. It changed my life.

You have to confront the problem. The more you do it the less daunting it becomes - don't forget your bosses are just ordinary people who have been successful - many of them would have been nervous too in their day. Be sure of your facts, hold your head up, speak clearly and you will be fine.
