can you splice the nutral wire, if you put it in a junction box? Will it have any effect on the power? It is a 200 amp main. Also ran in 2" sch 40 condut. Thanks

Dealing with this size wire isn't really a DIY project. If you were qualified I'm not sure you'd ask. You can't calculate the voltage drop without the current. Do you really want 200A for the current? If so it will be a lot of voltage drop. That is a very long run. Why 5' underground? Yes you can splice if you have a junction box (you cannot have a splice in the conduit). Using 0.10 ohms/1000' for the 2/0 resistance you'll have about 0.097 ohms round trip. At 200A, this is 19.4 volts.

You should probably get an electrician. Do you even know how to pull wire into 486 feet of conduit?

First of all 2/0 wire is not rated for 200 amps in conduit, maxs out at 195 for 90 deg. C wire, so you would need 3/0 wire at least. I would suggest you get a qualified electrician to handle this project.

Add to Electrical Engineer - I would also use schedule 80 PVC for that length of a run and the J-Box better be water tight.
