It means they are trying to contact their home planet. I'm serious! Have you not looked at, listened to or smelt a guinea pig and though "that just ain't right"? No living earth creature can make a noise like that - except maybe Victoria beckham or cher.

My theory is that some years ago these crazy cavamorphs came to this planet in a space ship, maybe from alpha centari but I'm not totally sure. Once here they set about breeding and worming there way into society in the hope that one day they could complete there evil mission and rid the world of all broccoli!

Most of the world is totally oblivious to the vile pig type creatures evil agenda, most but not all! Enter the Ecuadorians, the only people who can see the guinea pigs true form and purpose and have started the fight for earths Independence by scoffing as many of the furry critters as they can.

The shaking you mention is a form of non verbal communication they have developed to swap information and also to locate broccoli.

In general, when a guinea pig makes a vibrating noise it can mean various things. When a guinea pig is feeling frisky they make that noise. They tend to grind their teeth when frightened or are feeling aggressive. Also they can make the vibrating noise when they're excited about something i.e when it's feeding time. 9 times out of 10, a vibrating guinea pig is just feeling frisky and they don't tend to be feeling aggressive. Even if they're of the same sex, they can make that noise when excited. Hope this helps

A scared guinea pig makes incredibly extreme pitched squeaking on an identical time as being picked up. They run away. some would bite whether that's quite, very uncommon. I actual have had over 40 guinea pigs and that i've got no longer as quickly as been bitten by making use of one. a chuffed guinea pig will squeak for nutrition, make little squeaky noises on an identical time as being petted, will take nutrition out of your hand. Liz - a chuffed or unhappy guinea pig will relieve itself everywhere and everywhere, by making use of the way. they do no longer purely have one spot the place they poop and pee! Oh and bill_the_cockroach..... guinea pigs don't have tails so as that could be kinda difficult!!??

I wouldn't worry about the "vibrating".... It is quite natural.

I have two guineas and quite often one "vibrates" whilst the other one looks a wee bit pissed off!!!!

I'ts usually a warning sound to another guineas. Like "get off my patch"...

If your GP "vibrates" whilst you're petting it then it's a pleasure sound like a cats purr..... It's normal.

It doesn't mean that Guniea is cold. But just maybe he/she wants a cuddle!!!!

it sounds like he's afraid. Guinea pigs will make a sort of rumbling sound like a vibration when they're content but if they are actually vibrating, it starts off with a 'freeze' as in fright then they vibrate. It's like us shivering with fear. You need to find out what's upsetting him.

My Guinea pig used to do that - along with a funny noise. Not sure if they are scared or happy and it's like a cat purring. Does he seem scared? If he seems fine don't worry about it. If you are really concerned ask your vet.

Sorry, I am not going to answer this question about Guinea Pigs.

Guinea pig queries seem to get me death threats and violation notices from Yahoo.

What was he doing before he started to vibrate? What did you do?
sounds like he is scared, if it is when you approach the cage, maybe he is not used to being handled yet.
