Well I was going to say Great Britain being British and all but then I remembered that meant including the Welsh!! So I plumped for England although I reckon it's the people (or the English) and not really just the actually country. It also helps that here in London England, we have the most cosmopolitan mix of all nationalities concentrated in the one place.

I was just kidding about the Welsh (before I get death threats etc!!). I have spent many many a brilliant summer in Tenby, South Wales and couldn't fault the place or the people!

I suppose all of them do in their own way, some have a black sense of humour and others have a funny sense of humour, we don't always understand each others humour but that's just been human.

I have to say Britain. We have a humour that is largely free from adverse external censorious influences (politics, law, religion, etc.), and relies heavily on satire and irony. I have to agree with a previous respondent who said, quite correctly, that we haven't lost the ability to laugh at ourselves.

American humour seems puerile and immature next to ours, and it seems to have this gung-ho and America The Brave aspect to it. US humour also has little idea of the concepts of irony and satire, with a few notable exceptions of the new breed of American comedians and pundits (Jon Stewart etc)

Germans.... French... Italians.... hopeless, no comedic leanings at all, still grizzling about World War 2.

The English. We can laugh at ourselves, we dont take things too serious, we use laughter as a coping mechanism.
We also understand irony.
