Who would the teams be?

No, and the reason why is that there are only a couple of NFL quality players on any college team (Max would be around 10!) and they don't have the experience of the worst NFL team - which by the way has at least 45 NFL quality players - basically an NFL team would be a NCAA conference all star team +, then add about 4-5 years of Pro experience (average across team), even on a good day no college team can match up with that level - then go to where the game is controlled - the line, Offensive and Defensive - that is where any NFL team would crush any college team, yes even the Raiders!

Oh by the way, OSU is the best college team, just ask the coaches and writers who study football as a full time job! You can see their answer on either poll!

No chance what so ever because think about it not everyone on the best college team will play in the nfl at most if there is a miracle 7 will make it but an nfl team is all players that made it and even on the worst teams have players that played on the best college team

Good question. It would sure be interesting, wouldn't it? Everyone is pretty quick to say no, but I'm not so sure. A good football team is based not just on talent, but on execution. Oakland and Houston are in my opinion the worse teams in the NFL at this point in the season, though Detroit (sad to say), would be right in there. I don't think it is so much a matter of who the best college team is, as it is about what style of offense and defense they play. You have to remember that although the college team would be new to the NFL style, the NFL team is not used to college style ball anymore, either. It would have to be a college team with good offensive balance and very physical- with a good coach, who is very familiar with NFL style coaching. Now if you could put together an "all star" college team, let them practice together for a few months, then put them up against a pro team, that would be a game. I don't really think there is a college team this year that would win against even the worst NFL team, but I do think there have been some in the past that could have made a pretty good game out of it.

Any team can beat any other team "any given sunday". However, I don't think the best college team (OSU, USC, whoever) could beat the worst NFL team (see Oakland Raiders). Look at it this way... USC was amazing last year (or go for Texas). The people that they lost were the best on the team, yet almost none of them are even STARTING on their NFL teams. EVERYONE in the NFL is the biggest, fastest, best, that played at ANY school in college...

No, I have to agree with the others, the game is just too different and its really on another level. Its not just the speed, its the size and experience. Some 175 pound "Prima Donna" quarterback used to being chased around by slow, inexperienced 200 pound defensive backs in the Rose Bowl gets a real rude awakening in the NFL when one of the worst backs of the Houston Texans roars out of the backfield and at 285 pounds, running at 20 miles an hour turns "College Wonder Boy" into an flattened IHOP pancake!

Look at the number of really exceptional college athletes who simply never make it in the NFL, even top draft picks. They simply cannot adjust. Or after several more "pancake" incidents, they just say "F*ck that Sh*t!"

No. It would not even be close. While I agree that Oakland is the worst team in the NFL, Ohio State is not the best college team.

Not even close! I would say right now the Raiders are the worst NFL team by far. They are still bigger, faster, stronger and infinitely more experienced than any college team. Be it Ohio State, USC, Auburn, Texas, whoever the college team would not score. It would be a rout.

No way on NFL rosters are the best of the best at their position. However the college offense would confuse many pro defenders at least for a series or two.

Normally... no way.

This year... maybe.

The game you're speaking of would be Ohio State vs. Oakland.

Ohio State would definitely give Oakland a game, especially if the game were played in Columbus. The real problem for Ohio State would be containing Oakland's defensive line. If they could come up with a solid blocking scheme and solve that problem, I think they could definitely give the Raiders a run for their money!!
