How do I know if I can transfer the sim card?

You can't. That Verizon phone only works on CDMA networks, while Cingular supports GSM.

Find a GSM-capable phone that allows you to use your Cingular SIM card.

There is no way to use a Verizon phone with a Cingular one. They go off of different networks and I dont think the Verizon phones have SIM cards.
