No, it is not. However, let's differentiate between the government and the people. The Communist government is nobody's friend. It is totalitarian and brutal and should be overthrown (from within, naturally).
The Chinese gov't should be regarded as a threat to all the freedom and peace loving people in the world. They have invaded Tibet and eliminated the Tibetans, they prevent the practice of religion. They prevent the practice of free speech. They imprison any protesters. They threaten Taiwan and Japan. They vote against us in the UN.
I do not trust them.

No they are Communists like Bush. Do you like the outsourcing and loss of industry Bush has allowed to the Communist? They certainly aren't my friends.

it is the US's economic master. US owes it tens of billions of dollars. if china agreed that oil should be paid for in euros, for example, the US economy would be close to collapse.
