I don't really think it matters who takes whose name. I know a few guys that would love to be Mr. Oprah Winfrey or Mr. Halle Berry.

Hmm, what do I feel..? Probably nothing different from what I feel IF I was in situation to accept my husbands name.. With exception that I'll include my own last name in it. Simply 'cause I love it! And I see no fuss from being the opposite. It's really that people see these things as: "that's how it should be, that's how was with ages..."...:-) Come on, I mean that's sooo typical and stereotyped! The time of Pathriyarhat & Matriyarhat passed. Does that really matters? My answer is NO! There are lot m,ore important things in marriage that the wife's last name..:-)

Well, I wouldn't think it was bad, I would like it. Considering it's only less than 10 people in the whole world who have my last name, and they're all in my family. I would think it was good if he decided to take my last name or just add it after his last name.
I definitely want the kids to have my last name.

I would choose whoever has got the best last name = Which sounded nicest / Fitted better.

I'm all for it. Better yet, I think both partners should hyphenate their last names (ex: Jones-Smith). Marriage is a partnership and what better way to symbolize such a union. It shows two people united, and still individualistic; even more, it shows that the partners in a marriage are equal (or at least they should be).

If her last name was, oh say, Hilton. Yeah, I would take her name in a flash.

I say it's fine. Men expect women to change their names why can't they change theirs?

I've been married 13 years and I kept my name! I think it's stupid to run out and change names just because you got married. His name just isn't MY name and no matter how many times I said it or wrote it it wouldn't be my name.
