the only reason a guy would say that he's a one-woman-man is to reassure you that he's not looking around. when guys say this, they are usually players.
REAL one-woman-men don't have to say it. they live it. they will show you by sticking to it. there will be no question.

Some people say this because they don't really respect you or care about your feelings and they find it is an effective way to remove a womans knickers.
Sometimes when something is a complement it makes us loose all our rational judgement. Like when a guy with a partner tells you he would much rather be with you and we are flattered and think oh poor little woman she must feel so bad shes not as cool as me - when instead we should be thinking gross he is such a cheap sleeze he says that to any woman cause he thinks it will remove their knickers!
It a man demonstrates that he is untruthful and disrespectful take it as a lesson and move on. There are plenty of nice ones out there!

I learned this the hard way, guys tell us only what we want to hear. Just like they do in fights to calm us down. You need to be able to pick the liars from the real men by listening very closely to everything they say. A man that seems way too genuine usually turns out to be full of himself.

Because they don't like to admit they are not mature enough to stay with one woman, they have to be like a proverbial kid in a candy shop-wanting to taste a little bit of each.
