Contrary to another answer, I think that if you have to ask, it means that you are or have been abused. Sometimes in can be subtle, but day after day it can wear you down. Of course there are many different levels and degrees of severity, but any amount will damage you with regards to self esteem and confidence. If you are being made to feel guilty, unsure of yourself, unloved, etc. and not allowed to explain this, then that person is emotionally abusing you. It's difficult, but you have to get out of there or learn to tolerate it (even though you shouldn't have to).

I would say that if your partner's abuse is starting to make you think you are useless and worthless. If they are verbally abusing you a lot, blaming you for their problems etc. A member of the opposite sex doesn't need to beat you for it to be categorised as abuse. Screaming shouting, putting you down continually all adds up on your self esteem.

When YOU feel abused and used. This is a very personal thing for each individual person. Only you know what you can accept and what you cannot or will not.

you sound like you should be locked up. Stop being soft and feeling sorry for yourself and get active, whats done is done, and move forward..
Sort it out now before it wrecks your head and they actually put that striagh jacket on you.
