If this is for the short term, like for an upcoming event, then the Salt Diet will let you lose 5lbs. in 3 days!

It's one day on - one day off - one day on - etc.

on days 400 calories - but must have 1500 mg salt - "fasting"
off days 2000 calories- "nondiet"

Making your own menues, include at least 1,500 mg. sodium and 8g. fiber. On fasting days take 600mg. calcium, 400mg. magnesium and a multivitamin and drink at least four cups water.

sample diet:

breakfast - 1 cup tomato juice
1oz. lean ham or turkey breast
1 orange or 1/2 cup orange juice

lunch - 1/2 cup tomato soup or 1 cup tomato juice
1 cup sliced veggies
1 stick lite string cheese

snack - 1 stalk celery
1Tbs. fat-free dressing

dinner - 1 cup steamed vegetables
1/2 cup egg substitute scrambled w/cooking spray
1/2 cup sliced berries

snack - 1 slice lite toast
2tsp. low-sugar fruit spread

I found this in July, 4 2006 issue of "Woman's World". It is by Dr. John Daugirdas, a kidney specialist. It should be used with Dr. supervision and is not a good choice for people with health problems or of course eating disorders!!!

On fasting days I used Spicy Hot V8 because it has 710mg. sodium and 50 cals. and 2grams fiber per cup. So 2 cups a day gives all the sodium the diet calls for and only 100 calories. Then you can have 300 more calories (I saved these for dinner) of whatever you want as long as it has 4 more grams of fiber.

Its not too hard to stick to in the short run because you are only on for one day and then the next day you get 2000 calories of whatever you want, and then back on again! It is a strange diet, but it did work for me as long as I stayed on it---which wasn't for very long because all the V8 got real boring - real fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes but not only would you need a good diet and people rarely get to lose double digits of weight.

well, you can either eat green veggies ONLY or you can eat 2 parts veggies and 1 part meat. this is for the diet but it may not be enough...

you also need excercise. jogging daily keeps for more than an hour may seem hard if you're not used to it yet so try jogging biweekly. cycling with friends is fun and effective because while you're hanging out with your friends, racing and stuff, you encourage each other to do more (not necessarily vocal encouragement) and sometimes you don't even notice the pain because you're distracted by how much fun you're having. swimming is also good as it gives you "the figure". also, watch "the biggest loser" (it's a show about weight loss) and try to do what they're doing. remember, no pain, no gain.

it also depends on your metabolism. the higher your metabolism, the faster you lose weight. the lower your metabolism, the more you have to work harder.

i have average metabolism, varsity captain of our school in swimming and bastketball, the crush of a lot of girls (and, disturbingly, a few guys <_<;;) and envy of most guys, picture of male fitness for 3 consecutive years and i've been doing this since i was 15. some of my friends just started doing this but it's working already.

there are lots of diets like this. but don't try them.loosing so much in such a little time is not healthy and it doesn't last either. loosing 6 pounds in a week is already quite an achievement and is still healthy.

just take out everything that contains fat, sugar, all soft drinks and alcohol out of your diet, do not eat junk food like chips, pizzas, hamburgers, fries, etc. drink 2,5l a day and exersize a bit, even if it is just not taking the lift. good luck!

Yeah actually...Its called the Don't-Eat-Anything-For-A-Week diet...But u kinda cheat and drink water (but I heard that's not fattening at all)

well i have just lost a stone in 3weeks. all i do is drink fresh juice and water and eat low fat crackers. iv lost alot. try it! oh yes and excersise. i walk uptp 2hours a day.!
