if education welfare get involved, you could be prosecuted. however, you can try to get a doctors note to say your child cannot attend school as it may affect their mental well health (if this is the case).
you could ask the school to look into getting assistance from your local pupil referral centre/unit (PRU/PRC) as they can offer both small group learning out of the school environment, and , depending on resources, home tuition. this can be called your child being in 'reintergration'. basically, your child will have a sum of money attached to him education-wise, and no school wants to lose that, so will keep him on school role as long as possible if they can. the best thing to do is request he is taken off school role and offered a place at a pru.
youl should have a connexions service in your area - they provide info/advice and guidance for 13-19 year olds. if you live in wales or scotland, then you will have a careers service. either way, you should go to their 'one stop shop' and ask for advice from either their duty personal adviser, or the school personal adviser, if they are available. they will be able to assist you and also be an advocate for you in some ways which could help to take the pressure off.
do not panic, i know of alot of parents and carers in this situation, and although you are being hounded, if the authorities can see you are doing your best to try to help your child either return to education, or get an education, then they should look on this in a positive light.
best of luck, i am sure you feel very frustrated by the whole situation.

How old are your children?
You can home school them. But there are test that they have to take at certain times during the year in front of trained professionals, not in your presents. If you want your children to get a good job and learn to deal with others then they need to get the social skills.
You need to be the parent and put your foot down. You control your children till the age of 18. It is YOUR JOB to raise them to be the best people they can be.
But just think of what your child/children will be like when they grow up with out knowing the basics.
What kind of future will they have with out the knowledge of how do read write do simple math. Do they have the right change from a $20?
Most uneducated people live on the streets and have a life of crime because they can not function in the real world.
I hope this has helped you in making a decision to get your kids in school as soon as possible.
I do not know if you can go to jail. But is it worth the chance. Who will take care of your children if you are in jail?

There is no law in this country that says children have to go to school - only that they have to be educated.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your child receives a balanced and appropriate education - and you have a perfect right to provide this at home if you so wish.
In spite of what they may say, the LEA have no actual rights - they cannot insist on home visits, or access to your home (even though they will probably tell you that they do). But, and it's a big but, you must demonstrate that your child is being educated - if you don't then they can take you to court on the assumption that you are failing to ensure your son is educated.
It is very important that you address the issue, and quickly. It's your son who is ultimately going to suffer. Put "home education" into Google - there are loads of websites with advice. Good luck.

I think that you need to put your foot down with your child. If your child is refusing, then give them the cold shoulder. Do not speak to them or give them any attention until they realise that they are not only harming their lives, but yours aswell.
I am not sure about the procedure for home educating, but if you cannot get your child to go to school, then what is going to make you think, they will take any notice of you trying to home educate them. If you want to home educate them, the best bet is to hire a home tutor.
Also, if you do not make your child go to school there is a chance that social services will get involved, if they are under the age of 16. There have been cases where children have been put into foster care because their parents do not make them go to school or they refuse to go to school.
Also check source below, for reasons why your child may not want to go to school.
As a big sister, i know from experience that little children who don't want to go to school can be a handful, but if you use non physical punishments, such as grounding, or taking away their tv or video game consoles or favorite things for certain amounts of time and not giving into their behavior, then there shouldn't be a problem.

Ultimately I'm afraid the answer is yes. However I would suggest you approach the Head to make an appointment with the Educational Psychologist. Your son obviously has a huge problem, but by giving into his aversion to school is not the answer. In life we all have to do this we don't enjoy - how many of us would go to work evryday if it wasn't for the salary.

Is it because he got bullied?for a child to refuse to go school there has got be a bigger problem? Not all children like school, but the bottom line is they have to attend. If parents had to go prison or pay a hefty fine,i think parents would think about their children making their own rules up.Your the parent, not him.Sort the problem out as he needs responsibity for the onset of being an adult himself.Hope you sort this out, FIND OUT THE PROBLEM.

Yes your child can be removed. They put you in jail or demand that you take him to school and sit in his classes to be sure he attends. If you home school and you can, how are you gonna git him to do his work if you can't get him to go to school. You need to be great at math and other subjects because you will have to teach him how to do it. Your best bet is to embarrass him by taking him ans staying with him all day he will not like and will rather you just took him to school then have you follow him all day at school

You can home educate, just tell the school or ask them who you should inform, there are a couple of tests or something and then GCSE's to sit as a private candidate. It will be up to you to bring them up to standard to pass the exams.

If your son do not go to school then u don`t have to need to force him bcz it is his life he can spend it as he want to be . i know that it is wrong for him to not accepting u but as u r saying that u try to understand him very much but he never obey u . and if u want to punish him then i suggest u that keep him on his mind and let him to do as he want . when he will grow and elder then he never find any work to do then he will think that my father was right and that time he will need to be study but the time is past . time can not come back and i think it is his big punishment . ok
