That's a good one. Todays society seems to be full of people who are demanding rights left right and centre, but nobody want to take any responsibility for their actions.
We are turning into that letigious monster that the US has become where people will sue when they trip over their own kids who are running around in a supermarket, or who sue gun makers when they shoot themselves in the foot.
Prime example is the burglar who sues the home owner who's house they have just burgled for giving them a good hiding. If they hadn't been their in th efirst place taking what wasn't theirs they would never have got the good kicking they got.
I think responsibilities are the importatnt things. How can you expect rights without sorting these out first.
Take responsability for your own life and actions and stop looking for the quick buck or the easy way out and blamimng other people for your misfortune. Live a good life and only then can you expect others to treat you with the respect you deserve.

Responsibility... parents (especially my ex) seem to be more interested in teaching their kids their "rights" rather than what IS right.
My children, who I miss terribly, were getting so screwed up by trying to live with two value systems..
my own: (I teach that you should be responsible for your own actions),
and my ex wife's: (she teaches things like a builders yard is where you help yourself to bricks for the BBQ etc... some of her boyfriends are in prison for attempted murder, drug dealing etc)
For the sake of my kids sanity I have had to withdraw until they are old enough to leave home (only 2-3 years now) because it was really messing with their heads trying to live by two codes. The custody law in this country says the worlds worst mother is more qualified than the worlds best father, so they live with her.
They were also suffering badly because she kept using them as a weapon, a tactic I made a point of avoiding, so I've had to make myself scarce so that she can't do this anymore. I can handle being upset by her, but I can't let my kids suffer.
In the 15 years I've known her, out of all the men she's been with, including her 2nd husband, I was the only one who stuck around for the children (and some of the kids aren't actually mine, but I feel strongly that they should be all treated equally), she's managed to get rid of all of them... However I was too steadfast and loyal for the children (pig headed as she calls it), and I've finally had to surrender with this unilateral war she's been waging.
The sad thing is when the kids are older and realise whats been going on, they will resent her, which I also don't want because it will make things all the more miserable for them.

In an ideal society, you can't have all one or all the other, they are a package deal, IMHO.
In childhood, of course, where the parents make all the decisions, responsibilities are the first to be learned, and then they effectively "earn" the rights afforded.

You need both. It's like asking 'which is the more important food or drink?', a person can't function properly without both. Similarly, a society can't function without rights and responsibilities.

Neither. Breathing is the most important.
responsibilities and rights are what cause untold damage to the planet, people believe that it is there right to do whatever they want and stuff the consequences and the people who think that it is their responsibility to look after the planet by not altering it are naive in the extreme. every thing changes its natural.

For me responsibility, I am responsible for my own actions and it is not my right to blame others for it.

Since I had my son probably my responsbilities. But rights are important too especially for those who don't get them.
