I am so lonely I can't take it anymore? I am 21 and I don't have any friends at all.In the last three years I hadnt made one new friend or met people at all,I have agoraphabia I avoid people at all costs if possible. I started having social anxiety and panic attacks with depression about 3 years ago.I used to have tons of friends, had 2 beatiful girlfriends, went out almost every day that was when I was 16-18. Now with this depression everything seems so sad and worthless. My day goes like this I wake up go to work come back eat sit at computer go sleep and every day samething. I stay home most of the time because I know I will have intense panic attacks if I will try to socialize and than in return it will make me even more depressed, and people will definetly think what the hell is wrong with him. When I am in social situation I just sit there all depressed and quiet. Nothing interests me I dont have any energy at all. Why I feel like this I don't know could this be chemical imbalance?

You definitly need to seek some professional help. Do you believe in God? Reading the bible and other religious materials can be a great comfort to you when you feel down. You can also try praying in conjuction with counseling and reading. God will give comfort to those who seek it. If you want to talk to someone e-mail me. I will be glad to talk to you.

It very well could be a chemical imbalance especially if you are having low enegy. But getting drugs isn't going to make it all better either. I know what you are going through I have had the same problem from time to time. But you have to try to face your fear every once and a while and sometimes you will be more depressed and sometimes will be happier. It really lies with your perception of yourself. Every morning visualize yourself going to a cool place you like to hang out and see yourself smileing, meeting people shaking hands, and haveing a good time, then go and have a good time, don't sit at table all by yourself. Go up to someone sitting by theirself and make introductions. It's hard I know, but I did it and if I can do it so can you. If you visualize and try like I said I bet you will see a marked improvement in your life. One thing to remember is not to let yourself get upset when you fail, failure serves the purpose of helping us learn how not to do something. Try try again.
And look in the mirror and love yourself, its the only way you will be truely happy.

Blessings

Yes it very well could be a medical problem.
If this is a new thing and you can not trace it back to an event it may be what the head shrinkers call an organic disorder. That means that you catch it like a cold. You seem to have labeled yourself with agoraphobia and that's cool. Labels are there to tell doctors how to treat you. If you are not able to function as you are then by all means go. :)

GOD bless ya.

Yes, most people go through a phase like that. It is very unpleasant. Preferably see your doc, as has been suggested before, or - if you are at a total loss - some organization that would like to help people in your predicament. But beware of religious sects like Latter Day Saints or so. They are willing to help, but give a great many other frustrations in return

Wow. Honey, you need to get yourself to a qualified therapist yesterday! This deep depression isn't healthy and a therapist will be able to help you work through this. I don't think it's a chemical imbalance, not with this severity, but I do think that a qualified therapist will probably prescribe something to help you get out of this. I hope you get the professional help you need quickly so that you can start the road to recovery. It's going to be a long one, but there is help out there. Make use of it, please. Best of luck to you.

you know a lot of people go trough that, I've had it on and off for years too. What worked for was going out little by little and deal with things as they come..

Vitamins help out also stress really wears you out.

I do hope you get better, living like that can be very depressing..

My heart goes out to you...why don't you see a doctor to help you with some of these issues?? maybe then you can spend some time outside of your house to be able to meet people..you have to take it one step at a time... why don't you first try to correspond with people on the net ?? that may be a little easier to start with.. then you can build yourself up to meeting people in person..i have come through alot of depression in my life..its hard but it can be done..i have faith in you as you should have faith in yourself also..if i can help in anyway..let me know..take care of yourself......
