Use liquid foundation. Here's how you do it for a smooth natural finish. Use a wedge sponge for better precision, expecially around the eye and nose area. Work top down briskly and blend into face. Do not let the moisterizer sit dry on your face, as it will be hard to blend. Never use foundation around the eye area, it will show up the lines. If foundation dries on the face, just use moisterizer to clean it up and repeat steps.
Moisterize your face, wait for moisterizer to dry.
1) Shake the bottle well.
2) 3 dots over the forehead, left, center and right.
3) 3 dots over the cheek bones. Same on the other cheek
4) 1 dot on the nose
5) 1 dot on the chin
Use loose powder to seal the foundation.
If you do choose the stick. Rub generously on your on the back of hand, between the back of the thumb and wrist. The idea is to warm the stick foundation to your skin and use the wedge sponge and apply from forehead down towards chin. Blending each time. Don't forget to moisterize first and let it dry before applying foundation and end it of with loose powder.
In my opinion it is each person perference and skill. Practice makes perfect.
There is another foundation on the market that is more like using mousse. I find that it has lighter coverage and do not dry up as quickly. You'll have more time to blend.
I would suggest buy a sample or ask for a sample to try.

i find that stick is better than liquid cause liquid is very hard to use because you can end up with foundation lines that show more than if you where using a stick and the liquid has to be blended in before it dries in and even this can cause problems, where with the stick you are in control!! I think your just asking for trouble when you use liquid foundation!!!!

liquid is probably the better choice. the stick foundation usually has oils and more chemicals to keep it in stick-form that easily clog the pores. even though the stick works great if you are in a rush, go for the lightest liquid foundation you can find that has an SPF of at least 15.

if you just want a light coverage use liquid..
unless you have oily skin
i personally have never put on liquid foundation..
i have a mouse foundation, and a Compact/stick one.. the stick ones are the best they give you full coverage, last longer and look matte.

stick foundation might be too heavy for your skin...but it blends beautifully!! liquid foundation should be applied on clean, dry skin; put a small amount in the palm of your hand and 'break it down' so it's very smooth and blended when you apply it..then apply to your face; starting with the nose area, and then work up and out; cheeks, forehead, chin, etc....DO NOT place makeup on your throat, but blend with a very light touch just under the jawline; your makeup color should match your neck, no contrast!!!!!!!!

Neither!!!! It really isn't good for your skin. Try to avoid that if you can. If you really have to ...then I would say liquid...when you apply it...use the sponge...and pat spread it lightly...otherwise...over the years you will be pulling your skin in different ways...and will increase your chances of getting wrinkles or those red blemishes of tiny popped capillaries you have on your cheeks. Know what I am talking about....don't do the stick...it will be more harsher on your skin.

I would prefer liquid cuz it's what I'm used to. I haven'r really used stick so it's hard to make an honest comparison. Maybe I'll try stick after reading your ques. :)!
