I want to buy an area rug for under my dining room table, I'm not going to keep a leaf in it, so do I?

purchase a rug that fits that table without the leaves, or do I get an area rug that will accomodate the table once opened. The leaves would only be used at holiday time. With the 2 leaves it would be 100" without the table is 60", so it's a big difference. I was going to get a
8 x 11 rug, but now I'm not sure if I should get the bigger
9 x 13 rug?

It depends on how much money you want to spend and how big the room is. If the room is fairly big you dont want to put a smaller rug in the middle of it because that may make the rug seem even smaller and look odd. I would go with the bigger one so that it looks good even with the leaves on.

I'd also think that you would want to make sure that your dining chairs were either completely off or completely on the rug so another reason to go bigger.
