my boyfriend's a police officer....he HATES every single moment of his job! It's not an easy job and who says it's not a boring office job?? Some days you need to stay at your desk doing mundane paperwork like writing meaningless reports!

my husbands a PC and has been for two years, whilst I do a 9-5. and to say it strains a relashionship is an understatement. He loves the job but hates the shifts (as apposed to me who hates everything about the police) and the immense amount of time we send apart (take the amout of time a normal couple doin 9-5's get together, then halve it)

He is now desparatley seeking alternatives in the police to allow him more reasonable working hours.

my advice to you....don't do it!!!

I think the difference is, the police get out more (or is that another way of playing truant from the office)

One person's meat is another's poison. Escaping from a negative is no guarantee for landing in a positive - jumping from the frying pan into the fire.
First, know what are the opportunities and threats.
Then assess your strengths and weaknesses.
Visualise what you want to be, then plan and make it happen.
