That is simply untrue. Are you trying to compare the USA with Congo Kinshasa, Nigeria, Pakistan, Iraq, Colombia . . . need I go on?

If you can name one military conflict in which America was the unprovoked aggressors who fired the first shot, I’ll eat my hat (or something that sounds a little less like what someone would say from the 1920’s). This is, of course, not including the Revolutionary War.
America is the #1 donor to all peaceful causes in the world, including relief efforts such as the one after the tsunami in Asia a few years back and AIDS research in Africa. So, the real question is, “why is America more prone to help other countries in the world?” And the answer is simple: because we’re Americans, and it is our inherent nature to do what is right and help those in need.

There are very few or, probably more likely, deteriorating social values in this country. One person said to name a war the US started that was unprovoked. I would think the War in Iraq would qualify since investigations and research have shown that the reasons stated by government for the war were, in fact, not true. There has been no link between Iraq and al Quida (or however that is spelled) and no link between Iraq and the terrorist attacks prior to the War. Sure Saddam was a jackass that had no human morals BUT why do we always insist in America that we are perfect and know what is right for the rest of the world?
i think too this user is asking about the incredibly high crime rate. You can not compare the US to a lot of countries but, when compared to industrialized countries, the US far exceeds the rates of crime in these countries. This is all based on per capita data and is fairly accurate. We have the highest murder rate in the world (you can not count genocide as murder because it is, by definition, different ..not sure how). We also have the highest rates of drug use, divorce, unwed pregnancy, unwanted children, etc. AS far as crime goes we rank in the top 5 in EVERY category, from Rape to Assault. All you have to do to find this kind of data is go to the United Nations website and start looking at crime data. You can also go to the FBI's website and find the US crime information. Look at raw data...not interpretations of that data.
Considering we have just over 300 million in population and have a higher rate of crime than India (1.09 BILLION) and China (1.313 Billion) that says something about us as a people. Sure, China's government is different, a lot more strict and controlling. BUT, those who argue it is because of how big the US population is......this is not true. I believe it has more to do with social values and the morals of our country which are degrading. There are too many problems in America that are ignored on a daily basis by the government and by people in general. Imagine if, instead of giving 30 BillionDollars to the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, Warren Buffet had given that 30 Billion dollars to a fund to help those who are having severe financial difficulties or to pay off everyone's student loans and allow those who have them to keep much more of their money......in a perfect world, which we will never have, philanthropy would focus on social ills beyond the problems faced by education.
Anyways..that is how I see it

I beleive the US thinks they are the world police and feels they need to step in and save everyone instead of worrying about what goes on in the US. It's pretty simple with this analogy. Why go to outer space to explore when you haven't even explored the bottom of the ocean? Our answer would probably be because we can, and that just isn't a good enough reason. We must first be setting a good example for everyone else on our own soil before we try to be the saviors of the world. Everyone has also hit on the Islam thing with Isreal which is also a major good point. If we backed off people like Bush would think it was a sign of weakness and would feel embarassed.

We are a newer country than most of the other countrys around the world. We are 230-something years old as a country while the rest of the countries around the world have been around thousands and thousands of years....and as a country with being so yong in age as far as the rest of the world we have engaged in many wars and conflicts in our short history and we will have many more I am sure, but I think that generally we are known as a nation who has gone into battle more then most if not all countrys around the globe so that also impacts future generations of America to repeat the history that was set before them...

Would you agree that most inner city violence is a result of drugs? I would say about 50-75% is. Either directly involving drugs or as a meas of obtaining drugs later (robbery in order to have cash to buy drugs later).
It is a known fact that our CIA routinely brings drugs into this country and specifically target the inner city. Think about who usually deals drugs. Anyway, without the CIA, there would be very little cocaine or heroin to be bought or faught over.
So my answer is, we are more prone to violence because our own government intelligence agency facilitates the drug trade.

I don't feel that the US is more prone to violence than any other country in the world. Where there's people, there's violence.

We've never quite gotten over the success we enjoyed in World War II, and it really did change the world for the better.
Unfortunately, that was our last success.

I am not sure this is true. Look at Iraq, Sudan, Columbia, The Ivory Coast, Liberia, Somalia, and I few more I can't remember.
They are far more dangerous places to visit.

United States supports Israel which is anti-Islam. Most terrorists are Islamic fanatics. Thus, they sow violence against the US because it supports Israel.
