I don`t write one,but it`s a very good idea ,as my son is always on at me to write down my life story.I never knew my father terribly well and now that he has died ,I regret not having that knowledge,it would have been nice to have an insight into his life and generation. So as I now have the available time ,I think it would be right to write down everything I can remember about my childhood and life to pass on to my own children and perhaps any future grandchildren. So do keep it up,what you write today will give your family joy in later years. It`s an emotional journey of your life.I wish I had started sooner.

Diaries are wicked, but unfortunately I've got lazy with mine! I seem to only write in it when I'm feeling really down, like a self healing sort of thing. i also tend to throw them away when I move onto the next chapter, like a new boyfriend whatever. You've got me thinking now, I think I might have to start writing again.

I tried to write a diary once whe I was in my mid-twenties, got as far as Feb 13th and got bored with writing the same thing over and over again, so I stopped and have never looked back since.

i keep starting a diary, but never seem to get to the second week of writing. don't know if that is because I'm lazy or that i am terrified of someone reading it now or in the future.

I used to write a diary, but it made miserable reading, so I gave up.

I used to keep a diary (1963-1973). They are all in my attic now and I keep promising myself that I'll read them one of these days. Trouble is, what I wrote will probably make me cringe with embarrassment!

well, i just figure that thoughts are private in your head and to write them down in a book is risky because it's something that someone could find. My thoughts remains safely in my head and thankfully my boyfriend has no idea what goes on in there. If he did, he'd think i was just plain old crazy
