You have an open equation.
It can't be solved.
Anyway it should be "x=" and not "X="
So even if the equation was closed, X=nothing
because it's not in the equation in the first place!

Some how I doubt this was in an University setting. It appears to be a misstated high school problem. You are dealing with a problem of "diminishing returns" If I'm correct it is supposed to betaken to infinity. Each entry being one half the previous. jon j is correct, you stated it as an open ended question.
