ive been interested since i was very young in stars and astronomy and more broadly physics. i studied physics with astrophysics at university, out of a class of 150 (physics intake for that year) around 30 were girls, of the 45 students that specialised in astrophysics like me, nearly half were girls. i think generally sciences seem less interesting to many girls, thought i dont know why, of all the sciences though astronomy/cosmology/astrophysics seems to be one of the most popular among girls.

I have personally noticed the same thing, and about a year ago I read some statistics that touched on the subject. They stated that women are less likely to be interested in math and sciences in general compared to men. I wish I could remember where I saw this though >.<
I have always been fascinated since I was a little girl. My sisters and few girlfriends I have never seemed to care. My mom especially won't even try to comprehend the workings of the universe. My dad is the one who got me started on science at an early age.

I do not think you can say it is a man thing, I am also interested in the subject (taking classes, watching discovery channel, sitting in the dark with my telescope) but I have a division in my male friends with half interested in what I am doing and the other half just don't want to know (once again I do not think this is lack of inteligence just lack of interest) so I would presume to say that this is not a man thing, and is subject that anybody can be interested in, you just have to have the drive for the subject in the first place male of female. I also know a girls who are very interested in the subject and will talk with me for hours on the subject.

There is also great beauty in the workings of a kitchen in this universe..
Seriously, astronomy is a science that seems to enjoy a healthy ratio of females. Must be some out there interested in the really big picture.

properly Edgar Gonzalez became a small fan prominent with the aid of fact he's Adrian's brother. interior the off season Edgar signed a settlement to bypass play with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan. i does no longer in all probability care is Adrian left and Chris youthful is harm companies. apart from those men there is not any one on the Padres that has been there in the previous 2007 so i assume they are all expendable.

It's strange but it's one of the subjects girls don't get interested in even though there is no reason why both sexes can't enjoy the subject.
I say, go for it, study cosmology and lead the way for other girls to get interested in the subject!

That might be the reason then. Lack of interest, men think they can change the world, whereas us women have to accept things the way they are.

I am a girl and I am extremely interested in Physics - particularly astrophysics and cosmology, but I don't think I have any female friends who share my enthusiasm.

Well, its like how many people keep telling me that guys tend to enjoy physics more than girls. But that is just stereotyping. There are loads of people out there who enjoy cosmology and are females!
