Clearing the history does clear the listing that shows all the sites you have visited for the last 30 days. It does not clear the cached files from the sites. You would need to go into Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options and click on the Delete Files and Delete Cookies buttons to get rid of those. The actual History listing is very small. Deleting the History will not free enough space on your computer to make any difference. It is just a single file with a list of URLs. Would be about like deleting one text or Word document.

To free space on your computer, try the ccleaner program from http://ccleaner.com It will clean the history, registry, temp files, etc. easier than you can be hand.

I would probably suggest using s file shredding utility like StompSoft's Digital File Shredder Pro. This particular software will allow you to automatically delete items in many different areas of your computer.

"does this also delete the saved say 30 days marker? "

I'm not sure what you mean here. If you are referring to the windows built in restoration application I don't think that deleting the history files will get rid of everything. If you want to shrink this aspect down you can lower the space that is allocated to it or you can shut it off completely to free up all of the space. Just remember to turn it back on right away so you have some way to recover your settings should you run into a problem in the future.

hi, you can try a more secure browser.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
