Actually lots of countries could do this.
Communication stations for this were scattered around the world. The signal was so weak it needed a big dish to catch it. That dish had to be pointed in the right direction.
So countries around the world who were either part of the communications network or who had a dish and just tracked the signal out of curiosity know pretty much where Apollo went.
I suppose the conspiracy guys could say that just proves a radio transmitter went to the Moon. Sigh. Or that NASA manufactured moon rocks that fooled every geologist world wide who examined them.
That would have been the world's best conspiracy. Pulling it off successfully would have been harder than......
going to the moon.

Shhhhhh...... don't point out the obvious to the conspiracy nuts.
oh and to those who say why not point a telescope at the moon and take a pic, wouldn't you just look at it and cry FAKE!
You can make up a convincing conspiracy theory about absolutley anything. Despite being the most filmed disaster and witnessed by thousands of people in new york there are still people who think it wasn't actually planes that flew into the twin towers but missiles and all the video has been doctored.
Gotta go, my every waking moment is being monitered by a secret government organisation.

Maybe they didn't care, or didn't know. The Russians were having a few more important things to worry about in the sixties. Bascially I think this whole "the USA didn't land on the moon" conspiracy theory is one of the particularly weird and useless ones. I mean why fake it?? who were they trying to impress.

that question makes no sense? Why would the Russians have said something about the USA not walking on the moon when they wouldn't know??
I'm not quite sure what you're getting at.

This particular conspiracy theory has always amused me.... I believe it to be a worldwide conspiracy!
Tell me anyone... if we have telescopes that can see billions of miles into space... why can't we direct one of them to look at the moon and see if there are the remnants of the "eagle"... space buggies etc...?

Yup! That's one of my favorite arguments against the moon hoax believers. Not sure how well it works on them, but it makes perfect sense to me.
