I'm not so sure there's that much less racists now than before, I think they just don't make it as obvious anymore. It's not acceptable socially and legally to be a racist anymore, so I guess they don't dare show it as much anymore.

Fewer people in America are as racist as they used to be because of the melting pot here, and liberal educators. Go somewhere with a solid majority and they are just as racist as they have always been. Like Japan. The Japanese are really racist about anyone else.

More people are realizing the stupidity of racism/bigotry as well as it is not considered socially acceptable anywhere (at least where it is concerned in the United States).
