I was at the Luxor yesterday and wanted to get to some of the upper levels to take pictures of the inside of the hotel/pyramid. I found out that, to use the elevators, you have to have a key card. I was able to make it to the 23rd floor by riding with some people who were going to their room there. Are there any areas near the top of the pyramid that you can get to without a key card? Thanks! I live near Vegas so I go there often and was hoping to see how high up in the pyramid I could get next time!

Sorry for the bad grammar at the beginning of my question, I should've have said "Are there any," not "Is there any," but Yahoo Answers will not let you edit a question once you've submitted it!

No there are no public access areas at the top of luxor, but if you go next door to mandalay bay,& make your way into the "foundation room" you'll get similar veiw on an outlook patio on like the 54th floor. similar to voodoo lounge at the "RIO" or "gost-bar" at the palms. (the best night-time veiw in my opinion is voo-doo lounge at the "RIO" tho'!) the cool thing is that the foundation room is just next door to the luxor!
If your mind is set on looking at the top of Luxor then just go to the front desk & ask if they can have someone escort you to the top level to check the rooms & the view for a future stay.

I did that last time I was there. I got to the 30th floor and peered through a room that was being made up.

Frankly I think the Luxor is a dump. The only good thing I have to say about it is that it looks nice from the outside at night. I will certainly not be going there again unless they do a major refurbishment.

As far as views go the obvious ones are the Stratosphere and Paris. But also consider the Ghost Bar at the Palms. During the week it is only $10 cover, and the view is spectacular.

There are no public viewing areas at the top of the Luxor, but there is a great view from the Eiffel tower at the Paris hotel
