Since they are two seperate countries, it probably isn't possible. If you are unsure, then go ask the embassy and see what they say.

Certainly NOT because they are different country. Australia has aggrement on certain countries about the working holiday visa. Some countries allow but some are not, depending on which country are you from. You can use your working holiday visa for New Zealand does not mean it is valid here. If you qualify for a working holiday visa in Australia, you need to apply in precedure and pay a certain amount of Australia dollor for the visa. Please check out the following address for more information on your visa and in which categories are you in. It is also for you to check out whether you (which country from) are valid to have working holiday visa.

I don't agree with Hokaido's comments. Im going to Australia in June. It took the immigration department around 10 minutes to process my visa. The process is so simple. All you do is fill out a couple of forms online and its done. Im only going on a one-way flight to Melbourne but i have enough for a return ticket. The department of immigration asks that you have a minimum of $5000 on arrival with enough funds for a flight home. The department of immigration rarely check this though. If you are looking for bar work you need to get a RSA certificate by completing a course while you are in Australia. You also need a health check done if you are planning on working in the health care sector.

I would think not as the two countries have different specifications, and if you get caught you may not be allowed back in. If in doubt check with the Australian consulate or the New Zealand consulate, you can get both of those on line, get the phone number and give them a call. Better to check.
I'm Australian and now living in New Zealand, just been through getting a new passport and there are a whole heap of new rules
