If you have any skills which might be useful, and if you don't mind travelling, VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) are usually looking for people.

Good luck to you, and good on you for not settling for a humdrum life of dissatisfaction.

I am in exactly the same position. I have become stuck in office work for the past 6 years and I have never had the motivation to get up and come to work in the morning.

However, I need to earn a similar salary to what I'm on in order to pay my mortgage, yet when I look for alternative careers, it all involves taking a significant pay cut.

I hate the prospect of spending the rest of my life in a career that I hate, but I just can't see a way out at the moment. Even retraining and new qualifications cost a fortune.

Will be interested to see if anyone has any good ideas.

Good luck!

If the pay is good maybe you should aproach the boss and tell them you feel stuck in a rut and maybe a little extra responsability is what you need, or any upcoming internal jobs which could enhance your working life, also a lot of people with mundane jobs take on a extreme hobby at weekends so a boring job throught the week will be a rest for them. give it a go something nuts that will get your adrenalin pumping.

Try to look at the positives - you have a job and a well paid one at that. Your job is what you make of it. Perhaps you can ask your supervisor about getting more responsibility, professional courses or learning more about other areas of the business.

If all that fails, try to make sure your time out of the office is more fulfilling.

Offices pay well and give a reasonable amount of prestige but usually are a bit boring. The solution I found was to realise you are not what you do but to realise that office jobs pay well enough to enjoy ones self outside of work.

I think almost all jobs are boring. Good luck

If you are bored and have spare time at work then enrol in an online training course and get some skills in something that interests you. It's cheating your employers but if they are failing to motivate you then they are partially to blame.

How about asking for a transfer within the organization. If not possible, i would suggested that you strech time to time or move from your sit to deliver files or information to another desk as opposed to letting the deliver guy do it.

My advice for you is that, if you think your not enjoying your job maybe due to lack of interest try to search for other job that would fit to your interest. But if you're just getting bored because of repetitive task maybe try to stand-up and walk a little bit this might reduce your feeling of boredom. hope this work to you.
