I've noticed lately that when I brush my hair (and even on my clothes) there is much more hair than usual. My mother even made a comment about how much hair I've been loosing. I do have a lot of hair but I've never "shed" this much before. Also I haven't had a period in almost 3 months. I'm usually irregular but not by that much. I know I'm not pregnant. Someone mentioned stress but my stress level has been the same as usual. Also my diet has been consistent (not the greatest diet but it's been the same for 5+ years). Can anyone give me any ideas as to whats going on? I'm a 21/f if that makes any difference. Thanks for any help.

No I've never been pregnant, or taken depo shots. I've also never been to an ob/gyn- I guess it's time to start. A friend of mine also told me it might be a thyroid problem especially since I've been feeling run down for quite awhile now. I would've gotten myself to the doctor sooner but I have no insurance. Thanks for all the advice, from everyone, it's much appreciated.

There are many reasons for hair loss, hormone changes, weather changes, stress, thyroid problems and many other illnesses. With you irregular menstruation chances are it is a hormonal problem. You should see an ob/gyn to see about getting treatment. I went through this when I was on the depo shot which really messed with my hormones.

Usually you lose your hair after pregnancy. You haven't been pregnant, have you? This is a common sign of hypothyroidism, and you might feel a lack of energy too. Are you taking the depo shots? This can do it as well. I'd say if you aren't taking the shots that you need to get some blood drawn. Hair loss can be caused by various things, but I'd sure rule out the thyroid to be sure.

Smear the scalp with black seed oil three times in a week in the begining. when the dandruf disappered and hair fall stopped, mix small quantity of black seed oil with your hair oil and use everyday.
