Most religions are outdated, and, ironically, especially the New Age ones.
There are, however, expressions of true religion in the world today that genuinely seek to resolve the issues we are facing, like pollution and overpopulation. The state of the planet should be of extreme importance to all Christians.

It's a know fact that religions and political philosophy are both behind the cultural and societal times by at least 150 years. A thousand years ago, that wasn't much of a bother, but in today's fast-paced, networked world, it's our Number One Survival Problem.

I believe they are outdated, yes, but unlike my Atheist buddies, I don't agree they are the biggest danger to mankind. I really hate that they eat up your critical thinking and what not, but from my experience, many people do not even care about god even though they say they do. One big example in my life is my friend in the military who talks about how much he loves god and what not, but he picks up prostitutes and mistreats his fiance.
I think there are also other people that don't care about the truth. I have a friend from Venezuela that turned born-again Christian. I basically scolded her with the tough questions about religion, and she ended up saying "Well, look, I don't care if it is all bullshit. It makes me happy" and I said "would you follow it even if you know it is NOT true" and she replied, "Yes, it makes me happy even if it is a lie."
And you know, it gives meaning to some people's lives. Sometimes we forget we're not all inquisitive and truth seekers. And if you look, most religious people know nearly zero about their bible. I just wish the deadly side-effects like Jihad or the American Bible Belt wouldn't exist.

No. Religions are constitutions set by Allah, the omniotent, who Knows how life was in the past, is now and will be after you and me are gone. They fit all times because they set principles that we need to apply in the light of the challenges we face.
There is nothing in our today life that Islam has not addressed.
