Killing anybody is sinister. And, I won't answer for the extremists of any religion.
But, the Pope KNEW what the current situation was like, and he was well aware that religion is a very sensitive issue these days. Countries are being very diplomatic with each other and they are already having a hard time trying to educate common people, instill patience and tolerance, and enhance communication and understanding between people of different faith.
The last thing we wanted was to hear a man of such a rank, as the Pope, quote that about our Prophet. He knew that the fire was already burning, but still went on to add more fuel to the fire.
No offense to YOU!

Obviously what the pope said is more sinister because he quoted a statement which was blasphemous against the "true" religion of Islam.
According to Islam, killing a nun is OK because it is ridding the world of "fitnah" (disbelief in Allah). Those who killed the nun, of course, erred in that they "allegedly" did not give her the opportunity to convert to Islam. Rather than criticize them, though, we should give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that the nun rejected the offer to convert to Islam.
How could anyone possibly misunderstand this? It is clearly defined in the Qur'an. Islam is a peaceful religion. Once all those who oppose Islam convert or are eliminated then there will be peace and obedience.

The fact that this woman - who spent her whole life tending to the sick of a Muslim country only to be shot by two of its citizens because of nothing more than some words a pope said - died with the word "pardon" (forgive) on her lips, is why I will always remain a Christian, and can never become a Muslim.
A true Christian's focus on love makes being a Christian the highest earthly calling there is. Those who would be first will be last. And those who make themselves last shall be first.

The Pope meant no offence, but the Muslims have shown their true colours by murdering an innocent nun. She even called for her killer to be forgiven. Muslims should take a leaf out of her book. Christians are taught to 'turn the other cheek' and not to butcher and bomb.

The killing of the nun is definitely more sinister. Hypocritical, pathetic... I could go on lol
Fanatical Christians would, most likely, have done the same thing, though it most likely wouldn't have happened in the States (for fear of getting caught).
Fanatics of any group simply do not have any logic. They only have their twisted version of their religion that justifies them doing whatever they want. It's amazing to me though, how they do not see their own hypocracy. If I was trying to get others to believe I am peaceful, then someone insults me, I wouldn't go out and kill someone to prove how peaceful I am. *Sigh*

Obviously killing is more wrong than saying something bad. The main problem was that it was the leader of the Catholic Church saying these things. If the leader of the Muslim faith (is there one? Not sure!) had killed a nun, I think there might have been a little more of an uproar!

More sinister would be the Pope's comments. More shocking would be the murder. Both are wrong, but the Pope's words influence more people than the actions of some idiot murderers.

The pen is mightier than the sword, so I guess the Pope is more sinister.
Misguided Christians and Muslims kill each other every day in Indonesia, the 4th largest country in the world.
What was the question again?

I felt no thing can make killing became right. In 10th commandment God give to Moses, one of them say "do not killing".
People always use religion in their act. They said everyone who insult God must be killed. Is a very able God need mortal human to punish His insulter? In fact God didn't punish them. Why? I don't know, may be God didn't feel insult at all.

People say stuff about Christianity all the time, and not much happens. Christians are somewhat more reasonable about these things.
Peaceful religions and dead nuns just don't go hand in hand.
Oh well.
