No, there is no quarantine period here; however Florida might be a big change for your dog. Besides being current on shots make sure to get a very good flea and tick preventative, because in Florida we don't have a flea and tick season, all year is flea and tick season. Mosquitoes are also a huge problem so make sure your dog is on some type of heartworm preventative.

Also you mention the weight and age of your dog, but what type of dog? Sometimes the heat and humidity are hard for certain dogs to adjust to. Which doesn't mean you can't have any type of dog here, I have a siberian husky and two shepherds, but all of them were brought here as puppies or born here. I have fostered dogs that have a hard time breathing if brought here when older. Take your dog outside for short periods of time the first summer you are here and watch for signs of over heating. The humidity coupled with the heat makes it seem as if there is a physical barrier to walk through, or so I'm told by people new to it.

Good luck with the move, moving is one of those things I hate to do!

actual it does no longer count on your canines. your dad could even turn it into an entire time working canines and your canines nonetheless may well be happy bypass fortunate. for the 1st week it would be unhappy which you left, after that it would return to its known self. Labbies are particularly elementary to shelter , they do no longer choose severe quantities of interest, purely lots of exercising. they are hardy canines too so keeping it exterior does no longer injury that is wellness till it swallowed some insecticides or poisonous vegetation. Taking it to Europe is an ok decision too. the canines will study to evolve promptly, that is not like that is being saved in a brilliant empty condominium 24/7. So it boils all the way down to you.

You need to call the Florida State's Veterinarian's office for those requirements. (Each state has its own set of requirements.) They should be happy to answer your questions and ease any concerns you have. Don't take the word of anyone who gives you 'their' answer on the Internet, when you can get the OFFICIAL answer from the agency that enforces the laws (which often change from time to time.)

Any Florida veterinarian can give you their number. :-)
